MEET THE TEAM

We’re a close-knit, qualified team of fire safety professionals who each bring something different to the table. Every member of the team holds relevant industry certifications and continues to build their knowledge through regular training and development.

Roy Smith

Managing Director

Founder of RTJ of Sussex, Roy leads the team with hands-on knowledge and dedication. He’s fully qualified in fire stopping and fire door compliance and is a member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM). When not on-site, he enjoys family time and staying involved in the local community.

Tyler Smith

Operations Director

Tyler keeps everything running behind the scenes at RTJ and also manages our sister company, Luxe Auto Shine. He’s passionate about both fire safety and premium detailing. Off-duty, Tyler enjoys football, darts, and spending time with his family.

Harrison Gardner

Apprentice Carpenter

Harrison is learning the ropes as an Apprentice Carpenter, supporting the team with fire door installations and maintenance work. He’s developing his skills quickly and brings enthusiasm and care to every job. Outside of work, he enjoys sports and learning new trades.

Marshall Price

Fire Safety Technician

Marshall plays a vital role in delivering fire door inspections, extinguisher servicing, and PAT testing. Known for his sharp attention to detail, he ensures every site is safe and compliant. Outside of work, you’ll find him enjoying countryside walks, fishing, and spending time with his partner and their dog.

Rob Slater

Fire Safety Consultant

With over 20 years of health & safety experience, Rob brings exceptional expertise in complex fire risk assessments. Holding multiple FPA qualifications, he supports our clients with trusted, compliant advice. Outside of work, he enjoys long walks, training his dog, and gardening.

Becky Smith

Admin & Marketing Director

Becky keeps the business running behind the scenes — from organising day-to-day operations to managing all things marketing. She’s the go-to for team coordination and the creative force behind our brand. Outside of work, Becky enjoys family time and cuddles with office pup, Honey.
