FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT

Comprehensive assessments to identify fire hazards, evaluate risks, and ensure your premises meet current fire safety regulations.

Helping You Stay Safe, Compliant, and in Control

As a business or property owner, fire safety is a legal responsibility — but it doesn’t need to be a complicated one. At RTJ of Sussex, we carry out comprehensive, fully documented Fire Risk Assessments to help you meet your legal duties, protect lives, and stay on top of your building’s fire safety needs.

We cover homes, commercial properties, care settings, HMOs, and public buildings across Hastings, Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, and the surrounding areas.

What’s Included in a Fire Risk Assessment?

A full inspection of the building and layout

Identification of fire hazards and risks

Assessment of current fire prevention measures

Evaluation of evacuation routes and signage

Review of fire doors, extinguishers, alarms, and emergency lighting

Photographic evidence and prioritised recommendations

A documented action plan for compliance

You’ll receive your assessment in a professional report format, ideal for sharing with your insurers, local authorities, or responsible persons.

Your Legal Duty

Your Legal Duty

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a Fire Risk Assessment is a legal requirement for:

  • All non-domestic premises
  • Communal areas of blocks of flats or HMOs
  • Workplaces with more than 5 employees
  • Properties where members of the public visit

If you’re unsure whether your premises require an FRA — or when yours is due — we’re happy to advise.

Ongoing Support & Fire Safety Management

We don’t just assess and walk away. Once we’ve completed your risk assessment, we can help you carry out the necessary actions — whether that’s fire door inspections, fire stopping, or extinguisher servicing. We’re here to keep everything up to date and under control.
